Ceramic Pot lids Empty Ceramic Pot lids

Post by Alex J February 25th 2019, 10:36 pm

Hi all

I have just come across a pair of pot lids ( Cries of London Sweet Oranges )
On research originals were made by Pratts staffordshire

I was wondering if this range was reproduced as i think some were in the 60s and 70s by Burnside Pottery ?
But the Burnside reproductions have a gilted ring around ?

There is no markings on the lids

Thanks

Hopefully someone can answer the question, but, yes, in general there are modern reproductions of pot lids, and some that have been recoloured and sold as rare colourways so it’s right to be cautious. There is a very knowledgable group on Facebook Old Bottles of Great Britain... who’s members are very knowledgable on anything and everything that can be dug up in old rubbish pits -
