Help! 'Lozenge' shaped drip glaze, footed vase with JT incised?
Hi there, I'm new here but WOW what an interesting forum. I've become slightly obsessed since I came across this kind of unusual looking studio pottery vase and have been trying to find out about it. I think the incised initials in the bottom read JT - I'm not sure which way around it is supposed to be read. I'm no expert but I think it has what is known as a 'drip' glaze and it stands approx 10 inches tall. It's actually really cool.
The signature looks a little like something I saw for a potter named JT Abernathy but I don't think it's him!
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks so much.
Darren.

It’s not a mark I’ve come across before. Looks like a slab built vase in a style that was popular in the 70s, although I’ve not seen one in combination with that red glaze. Unfortunately there are many unrecorded potters from that period, and most use a stamp rather than a handwritten mark, so it’s possible it’s a student piece.
