A bit like a snake ... could it be Peter Currell Brown of Snake Pottery? ... Although his mark was an impressed snake - not a painted one, so maybe not ... but he did fancy slip painting on his mugs, jugs ... and other things!

That central signature. It looks a bit like the F that Bernard Forrester used. While better known for his intricately decorated stuff, he did do a few things like this in the late 40's early 50's.
