I saw that one. Nice pot but I didn’t find the mark. I’m wondering if it’s JB?

I'll have a good look when it arrives, I was shocked there were no other bidders

not particularly Phil.
I have a weakness for good salt glaze and needed a small lidded pot for the dinner table

The reality is of course. Does identifying things really matter.? Its a nice piece of pottery. Simple as that.

Its a bit like painting in Victorian times. There WERE many. many thousands of really good 'amatuer' painters. Very few of whom are recognised nowadays.
Similarly, in that huge cultural and societal explosion of the Babyboomers coming of age in the late 60's and 70's, there were a huge numbers of 'potters' who were good, but now entirely forgotten.
Potting is a very difficult field in which to make a decent living. Indeed, the occasional surveys of 'potters' income over the years suggest that most of them earnt below the average wage. Even Lucie Rie augmented her income by part-time lecturing.
