Matt Vase with SH Mark, I have a few pots by Sylvia Holmes whose mark is very similar but very different style, can anyone shed further light on who this might be?

It is a lovely shape and glaze. But why would someone spoil it with an incised monogram like that?

The base is concave so the stamp may not go in that well possibly?

The initials have been scratched in rather than stamped. I could understand a professional doing that if it was raku but this looks like porcelain or a white earthenware, Hence my feeling that it’s a hobby potter
