JR mark, John Rivers, Riddings Pottery
John Rivers - Riddings Pottery, Derbyshire.
Mostly self taught he has also gained experience and advice in the early years from David Frith and Derek Emms. (all info taken from the website)
I visited Riddings Pottery around 20 years ago, in my youth, and was greeted by John ( I recognise him from his website pictures). I was taken to a gallery, up basically... a ladder! above his pottery workshop. I bought 3 things, a huge bowl, a Madge Spencer vase (which I still have) and a lidded pot. We still use the pot but after 20+ years of kitchen life is looking a bit worse for wear.
The large bowl was pushed off a window sill by my cat and smashed aaargh!
I haven't seen much of his work on searching, so I thought this post might help ID's in the future if they pop up.
Now John has a brand new website http://www.riddingspottery.co.uk/

I've made a few awful pots in my time and marked them in a similar way. I don't think any escaped but be warned.

I drive past (what was?) the pottery every week. I noticed the sign had gone from
the building on the road fairly recently, plus the website seems to have gone also.
