It looks like a late 19thC commercially made stoneware bottle of the type used to hold beer or ink or similar. The mark on the side may be from a piece of wadding or another bottle touching it in the kiln. I don’t think it’s a maker’s stamp.
In the U.K. it would have been made by one of the companies like Royal Doulton and Bourne Denby. I don’t know who their contemporaries were in Canada & North America

Yes. It does appear to be similar to those jars. Many items came to Canada from England during that period. Unfortunately no marks. Thank you
