I've been trying to ID these for a while with no joy. They are both quite chunky and heavy. They came with a job lot that included a piece by Joanna Constantinidis.

Can't see any hobby pottery using that sorta grown up clay mix, so well worth some time methinks.

Joanna Constantinidis was a lecturer at Chelmsford school of Art for near 40 years. She had many pupils. The clay mixture is similar to ones she used. Maybe there is a connection there somewhere.

The JC mark couldn't be an early unknown mark of Joanna Constantinidis could it. (long shot)
