Is my vase TK Maxx tut or Italian Treasure?
Hello!
i picked up this interesting, rather pretty and quite LARGE vase recently and am somewhat bamboozled by it's origin.
Initially I thought it may be 80s Italian but now I really don't know!
The white glass has a red to orange stripe and it sits on a cobalt blue footed base. Und
erneath there is a snapped off, rough pontil mark. It is approx 43cm tall and pretty heavy - getting on for 2kg I would have said.
Any tips would be MASSIVELY appreciated.
Thank you!

I'd say the rough pontil mark is a bad sign. That makes it much more likely to be far east.

I think TKmaxx. I’m no expert in glass but I give those vases a wide berth. Maybe I’m missing out on a Treasure but without a signature on it, and with a rough pontil scar I pass it by

The rough pontil may also suggest a small studio. I have seen unpolished pontils on modern Italian Murano glass. Seems to be nicely polished on the top rim and perfectly shaped. Not sure really.

The 'modern' Art glass market is a devilishly difficult one, especially when a piece is not marked. Also because such vast quantities of really good looking glass has been produced that are worth purely their decorative value.
This one reminds me of one I bought in a charity shop years ago. Beautiful looking great big large lump of glass which I paid £15 for. Went home really excited, rubbing my hands with glee. Only to be completely let down when research on the net proved that I probably paid too much!
