Art Deco Stem Vase bought in France ... Orchies l'Herminé-Declercq Joseph
This is proving to be quite a puzzle.
I thought this was a French piece(having bought it in Deux Sevres, France) - but someone on the French pottery forum reckon its Chinese.
Perhaps someone here might recognise the mark ... I am sure I have seen it before.
So - what do you say? Is it French, Chinese - or from elsewhere?
Is it old - or young?
8" high - 4.5" diameter.

All I can say is that Chinese vases aren't usually numbered! Your mark may be upside down.

I don’t recognise the mark but could be DJ.
Western studio pottery. Not Asian, imo.
The stilt marks and shape point to Art Deco era Art Pottery but could be MCM

Thank you 22 ... I know that is what it says ... what I do not know is who is "DL" of France ... any ideas? It will probably be a factory of some sort like Sarragumeunes! or Denbac or Longwy (I don't think so!), or St Cloud or St Clements or Alamy ... someone somewhere knows who this maker is - its got to be a fairly well known factory ...

New
Here is the bottom line folks:
Our dear friends at the Place de l'ours send their greetings and would like to inform you that this piece is a French Art pottery from Orchies (in northern France - Saint-Amand-les-Eaux) specifically made by Joseph and Emile l'Herminé-Declercq dated around 1900 ... Hurrah!! I think the aventurine glaze is ... encroyable! (Incredible!)
