A long shot, but the clay is similar to that used by Alan Ward.
I've seen his pots marked with an 'AW' stamp, and/or with his whole name incised or written with a marker pen across the base, but did he ever mark by incising just his initials?

That's the trouble with long shots, they rarely hit the target. To be honest, I was going more on the grainy clay rather than the actual signature.
