Large Mid-Century? Studio Pottery Lamp Base...
Got this today and plan a re-wire and then enjoying it for some time
but would love to know its history were in North Wales i guess it may
have been made at one of the thousands of small places around here
but as i am not a pot person i am unlikely to ever know maybe somebody
here can recognize it and would my idea of mid-century be about right?
It is 10" x 8" approx Thanks

Possibly Woburn Pottery but it looks molded so it might be European production pottery

Thank you NaomiM is it the same with pottery as with glass
in that you should have a mold seam vertically up the vessel?

Sort of. But clay is easier to tidy up than glass, so you might not see it if it’s been wiped down with a damp cloth before firing

I second denbydump and came here to suggest Blue Mountain Pottery. The glaze and color of the clay is very similar.

I third denbydump. I've had several pieces of Blue Mountain Pottery, most with that distinctive blue/green glaze (the others were Autumn gold).
