Pick this Hilary Brock cheeky girl posing on a chair with cat beside her, not my cup of tea but picked it up anyway. signed B on the base, circa 1977 to 1997. What's your opinion on this type of pottery.

Like more or less everything else in studio pottery there is a lot of dross, but some unusually good quality in the better work. Often it is in the subject and humour of the work, and Hilary Brock is up there with the best of that work. It is often,sly, funny and sexy and often done with great panache. It is a very personal taste tho. Some of the more puritan Studio pottery collectors do look down their very snooty long noses at it tho! Laughter

I think it's quit fun and not to serious but good top quality and well made . I'm just not a all round people figurine fan whether studio, general pottery or in any other medium.

You are not alone of course. You can hardly give Doulton figurines away nowadays.
On the other hand, Charles Vyse figurines can go for a couple of £1000...
