Penguin figurine Empty Penguin figurine

This penguin figurine came to me along with 2 Beswick Beneagle whiskey flasks. It stands 4 1/2 inches tall. There are no marks or tags. I was thinking possibly by a UK potter. I am not sure it started life as a whiskey flask although the hole in the base would hold a plug. I have searched extensively on line with no success.

Looks like a word with S in it inscribed on the base

I had noticed that and have looked closely under a magnifying glass but it appears to just be a colour blob.
