ID required for studio vase signed Frank ....

A tall facetted stoneware vase with an incised signature. I won't win any prizes for making out the first name "Frank", but not at all sure how the surname reads. I am seeing "tryan".  Any help appreciated, thanks.

Maybe try rubbing some marmite over the base to highlight the signature

Besides, I don't want the vase smelling like bin juice

I do it all the time; It’ll wash off easily enough Some recommend using cinnamon but I find it too coarse

Tried both, the bin juice came out the winner for this piece. A little clearer, not a massive difference, but the surname (if it is that) reads as Bryan. No records of this potter, that I can find as yet.
