It looks like Sadler, but it would normally be embossed.
The other mark would be the decorator's mark.
Lots of potteries used this round mark, including Portmeirion.

Thanks DD appreciated - it's on ebay now - I'll stick with the 'probably Staffordshire' description early to mid 20th C.
