A hand thrown tulip vase with scrafitto outline to the decoration. The glazing seems hastily done and the pattern is more stylised than naturalistic (that's me being diplomatic) but I like it regardless.
Is it Italian tourist ware or the work of an enthusiastic amateur?

That's what's confusing me. The glaze is lovely but the actual outlining of the design is rather sketchy, particularly on the clamshell, and looks hastily done. It doesn't put me off the pot, I really do like it, and all the above add to its charm.
So much so that it just dawned on me that the apparent naive charm might just be deliberate. D'oh!

Certainly traditional folkware from Italy or similar, and now sold as tourist ware. Looks 60s-70s to me, but difficult to judge when they don’t have to put country of origin on when it’s made & sold locally
