I have had Hammersley suggested to me for my old jug. Upon checking it seems a good guess.........except for the markings? Can anybody enlighten me further please?

Probably Staffordshire, possibly from a graduated set of 3.
It looks hand painted, so probably late 19th or early 20thC.
The marks will be pattern/decorator/gilder's marks.

Much appreciated. Before I charity shop, it’s not likely to be worth thousands is it?
Although the base does depict old age and it has a very old hairline crack.

No, a pretty jug, but we do seem to see a lot of them on the forum,
all unmarked.
