Troika Pottery Slideshow
Hi,
To anyone who's interested I have made a slideshow of my Troika pottery collection and related items and uploaded it to Youtube.
The slideshow includes a five minute video clip of the BBC Antiques Roadshow showing a few pieces of my collection back in 2007.

Stay Safe! :)

Re: Troika Pottery Slideshow
Hi dantheman,
I have just clicked the link to make sure all is ok and it's fine.
You may just have to scroll back to the beginning as when I clicked on the link it started in the middle of the video clip for some unknown reason.
The whole slideshow including clip is just under 23 mins long and worth watching if you like Troika pottery. At the end of the slideshow part I have added a link to a website I have been involved in regards Troika.
I intend to add some background music but need to source some royalty free tracks first.
If I had free reign on the music it would start with PF 'shine on you crazy diamond'!

Re: Troika Pottery Slideshow
Yeah that worked
I have spent the last 20 years hating Troika but I actually like the vast majority of the pieces you showed.

Thanks Naomi for adding that Link.
Dan....Troika pottery as you'll no doubt know has always been a bit of a marmite thing for most people.
It's made my day to think that you, having hated it, have had a change of heart regarding some of my collection.
I have always preferred the more unusual pieces such as the Heals whiteware and also the one off plaques that were produced which can be seen in the Heals window photos on the slideshow.
I suppose when Troika pottery was plasted all over the screens (BBC Flog It etc) a few years ago the public only ever saw the Newlyn rough textured pieces and never the smooth/whiteware etc so it easily became a love/hate scenario!

Re: Troika Pottery Slideshow
The whiteware is a lot harder to find but is out there.
I managed to get the two figure of eight lamp bases a few years ago from a dealer at Ardingly who had just missed the cut off date for putting them into a Bonhams sale.
The dealer recognized me from a previous deal so let me have them for next to nothing compared to what they should have gone for.
The rarest 'smoothware' would probably be the yellow glazed pieces with we think only six produced.
