Malcolm Pepper
Malcolm Pepper was born in 1937 and studied pottery at the Poole School of Art in the early 1960s under the tutelage of Philip Wadsworth (a Staite Murray pupil at the RCA). During the 1970s he had a studio in Brighton where he produced stoneware and porcelain on the wheel, very much in the Chinese tradition. Much of his early work was unmarked and it wasn't until the late 70s that he began to mark his work. In 1980 a major exhibition of over 100 of his pots was arranged at the Casson Gallery in London and it was extremely successful. However, Pepper died shortly before the exhibition opened.
