Emmbrook - Welcome... Anything signed by BA is unusual. Only a few a year pop up on ebay and they are always sought after. I can't quite tell from the images but it seems not deeply incised? Or is it written on the base? Perhaps it was done after biscuit firing? Certainly looks like thistle pattern, but in deep blue - perhaps she just had those glazes to had so she tried something new. They did a lot of that. Thistle was only from 1975 so some time after that. Love to see some more. Thanks for posting.

Thanks 22 Crawford St. I've been enjoying looking round your website.

You're right that the signature etc is not deeply incised, but it is incised rather than writtten. I'll post some other images when I get a moment of the two planters and some of the other pieces - some are designs that seem to come up quite often on eBay etc but others much less so.

Well one of the nice things about Briglin is that most of the time you can get replacements for sets you have broken. Especially the 70s stuff.

Nice Item, Could it be another "Brush pot" 22?
It seems a little small for a planter.

Yes crossed my mind DD

Planters typically have a hole in the base and a shallow pot to stand on that way excessive watering can get out.

I'll post photos tomorrow but the other two 'planters' I have (certainly they are the right size) don't have holes in the bottom either. But you could of course be right! Either way I'm very pleased to have it.

This is the two thistle 'planters' side by side.

A hopefully better shot of the signature:briglin - Briglin Pottery - Page 8 P1080524

This is a rather nice little dragonfly pot, about 3.5" high - it's not that well made as the top is not a perfect circle but I think this adds a bit of charm.  Impressed Briglin on the base.

And here's one of the vases that my father purchased from Briglin - measures about 7.5".  Impressed Briglin England.

Yes looks like she scratched after the pot had dried rather that in wet clay. Very probably that both pots are by BA. Yes they are not normal pieces, good quality

Someone's been busy. You have a dozen+ very interesting pieces there. Biggest collection I've seen in a while. Thanks for posting. I would shuffle out the brown standardware such as the two jam pots (not my favorite) all except that sunflower cruet set which is cute. I'm not a big fan of the standardware they did make it en masse. You have a good mix but no animals and no 50's except the texture vases (far right) which are late 50s early 60s - do any have the blue ink mark (round) under the glaze? That black and white vase centre back is a new shape to me, interesting - they sell very well - where did you find that one? If you need any dates confirmed then PM me.

Hi Crawford Street, sorry for the slow reply - the black and white vase came from Etsy a couple of months back - I love it, nice shape and texture to it.  I'm looking for more of the black vases but they seem thin on the ground.

The texture vases I don't see any immediately obvious blue ink but will check more carefully when I have a moment.

I purchased some job lots of studio pottery today at auction, several dozen pots etc - lots of Briglin (mostly standardware but a few interesting bits incl some animals) plus Alvingham and Hornsea and some Denby - still in boxes but will post the more interesting bits here once sorted out.

Ok a flat bottomed tall wavy vase dating to the 60s - I've not seen this before. Never say never. Can't remember anything that wasn't footed except miniatures. Except this one  Pondering

Can anyone confirm these miniatures are Briglin? I'm pretty sure they are, they were found together, though none of them are marked. Tallest one measures 2.25" tall.

It's unusual if they are marked but they do repeat shape and decoration. I like them a lot.
