Re: Briglin Pottery
I guess these five date to the early 70s?

Re: Briglin Pottery
Yes I tip my cap to you, Nice work. They don't grow tress. I like the back right one. The standardware brown ones are more common and perhaps less desirable unless they are early.
Does this piece of Briglin have a pattern name?
Can anyone advise if this Briglin has a pattern/design name please? Thanks

Re: Briglin Pottery
No, it's one of the generic standard ware pieces they made & sold in large numbers. Very typical Briglin.
Re: Briglin Pottery
For Christmas as usual some more finds. The big blue one I have had for a long time. At one point I thought it could be Parkinson as it is unmarked. But it's white earthenware and the other one is stamped BRIGLIN.
Unknown mark on flowery vessel - Briglin
Hi all,
Difficult mark on this one - I think the pattern maybe lillies, not even sure about that either.
Is the mark a... G? a... cj? an... h? or a... b?
or maybe upside down?
can anyone help, all ideas welcome :)

Re: Briglin Pottery
Yes you may have something... The flowery design is quite similar to some other pots i've seen just now on the briglin section here - Cant find a Briglin Stamp mark though and not too sure about the base = looks a bit smooth, what do you think?

Re: Briglin Pottery
There were three or four Rye Pottery miniatures in Sawbbridgeworth, but out of my price range. Still kicking myself for leaving them

Re: Briglin Pottery
A most unusual stoneware cylinder vase 8in high.
It almost looks unfinished.
The clay is quite a rough stoneware, similar to Denby.

Re: Briglin Pottery
The only stoneware I've seen is the ashtrays. Must be another one of those "why don't I make some..." that pop up every now and then. It will be 60s. Unusual, interesting.
distinctive if a little strange vase - Briglin
Hi guys and gurls! I like the more strange items in life so this one caught my eye. Its been part glazed and then has had some flower petals cut into the unglazed part of the vase I think!
I can see no obvious mark but as its such a distinctive style I wonder if it can be recognized.

Re: Briglin Pottery
They had a big order for EIIR coronation ashtrays an went with a slip mould to make the large run. Seems that afterwards ever the spendthrift they kept using the moulds and produced a range of animal ashtrays, so it's early-mid 50s -
Is it bigger than the little ashtrays?

Re: Briglin Pottery
Maybe espresso saucer sized. It was over priced so I left it, but it didn’t strike me as slipcast. Their usual wheelthrown brown clay.
