Re: TF mark, Tessa Fuchs
You said on Annette's thread that they both worked at Briglin for a time. Is that right? Tessa uses a very similar clay to Briglin.

Re: TF mark, Tessa Fuchs
In that case, I wonder if this is by Tessa Fuchs?

TESSA FUCHS - Large Landscape Bowl - 29 cm
I think this was in one of the spring auctions, then came to me through ebay. She did a lot of animals and bird bowls as well as landscapes. Strangely it looks better in the pictures than in real life. I was slightly disappointed when I unpacked it as the blemishes and imperfections in the glaze are more noticeable. There are lumps and splodges all over so don't expect them to be perfect. Still the overall effect is very bright and happy and fun - more like a cartoon.

I like it anyway!
Was tempted to have a bid on this and 1 other similar that was on around the same time.

A beautiful but delicate small base bowl - Marked TF - Tessa Fuchs
Hi
I like this bowl a lot. Very dark earthenware with a fantastic glaze. Approximately 16.5 cm across the top, 8.5 cm high resting on a narrow rimmed base about 4.5 cm across. Raised two letters on base looks to be L F??

Re: TF mark, Tessa Fuchs
It's almost identical to my large vase with fish, on here.

Re: TF mark, Tessa Fuchs
That pitted matt glaze is atypical of her work. Invariably it is light, and made of earthenware. The mark is hers, the T exact. Her mark is often slightly glaze filled. Definitely Tessa Fuchs.

That's great, glad my suspicions were confirmed. Not a bad £1 car boot purchase I think. Thank you both for you replies.
