Any ideas about this?

Pillar candle holder seems most likely.

There is a clear H mark but I haven't been able to track it down.

Many thanks,

Carol

Looks like a 70s piece. Andrew Holden is possible

There's no 'swoop' to the cross bar of the H that shows in the marks on other pieces by him. And, to be honest, his pieces look much nicer! But I'm not arguing with your mark-spotting! Thanks again.

The Marks book shows two H marks for him, but I agree that the shape of the H doesn’t seem quite right. I’ve come across similar mystery H marks on stoneware and I think there will always be a question mark over them until one turns up with a label

Do you think it's meant for a candle holder? Or maybe incense sticks?

I really couldn’t say :D I think it’s in the shape of a poppy seed head, if that helps :)
