Ryoji Koie
I was sad to hear that Ryoji Koie, born 1938, died recently.
Koie was the wild master potter of Japan, who has been at the forefront of the Japanese ceramic art scene since 1962.
I just saw a quote from Lisa Hammond, which went, "If anyone lived life to the max it was him."
I never met him but, from the stories of those that had, I imagine Lisa's quote to be a perfect one.
