2 Upsala Ekeby vases : who can help with the markings ?
1. A very nice green vase. The markings - apart from "UE" and "Sweden" - are hard to read and I could not find apprehensive information on the internet for dating UE pieces by their number
.
2. A black and orange piece mith impressed marks "EKEBY" and faint mark "2612"

Re: Upsala Ekeby (Sweden)
I should get an award for the *&$*#! obvious because there seems to be a detailed site www.upsala-ekeby.com ... only too bad it's in Swedish.
By what I could understand from the numberings the first piece should be between 1914-1919 and the second one from around 1932.
Have sent the owner of the site an e-mail ... see how that goes ...

Found in a cardboard box at an auction near Holmfirth. Unfortunately, it has a giant chunk taken out of it near the top, but in all honesty, it's not that noticeable.

Re: Upsala Ekeby (Sweden)
well we can date it between 1963 and 1984 which rules out quite a few designs

There is a great collection here although I haven't looked to see if your pieces are in it. There is also another site which I found very helpful, but I can't find it right now, should have bookmarked it sigh, but I'll see if I can find it again and post. m

Dan there's another collection of dinner service pieces here, but your cup or design is not on there. The other link I was thinking of is for a lady in Sweden who only sells bla eld though so no help there.

Re: Upsala Ekeby (Sweden)
Marianne Westman's 'Picnick' design is now being reissued - I don't yet know what/if the differences between the original production and the reissues might be however.

Re: Upsala Ekeby (Sweden)
Hi,
I can confirm that it is Ingrid Atterberg and the vase is number 2176 (21 x 9 cm) in the Pepita-model and produced in 1954-1956.
