Re: David Sharp
Possibly, but I can't see the signature as the photo is too dark.

Re: David Sharp
Like you say elsewhere, there doesn't seem much point in adding the signature. Does it look like D T Sharp and Rye underneath?

Re: David Sharp
I can't see the mark, but I have a couple of similar items by David Sharp if you'd like to compare them with yours - the black mug in particular:

Re: David Sharp
Hi. Just found this forum. I am David sharps daughter, and worked in the pottery too. We sometimes used to loose the stamps, or someone else nicked it the other side of the room so ended up scratching the name in - Dad used to tell us off though! Its certainly one of ours. At various times we used various stamps, scratched the name or painted the name, depending on who was working in what department and what was to hand.

Re: David Sharp
Thanks for joining Stella, there are a lot of Rye enthusiasts, like me, here on the forum.
Great to have that unique input, and of course any comments on the main Rye thread
could be very interesting.

Re: David Sharp
I know that many of David Sharp's piece can be found in Rye Pottery thread but I have always thought that he ought to have a thread of his own and so here goes.
I have a copy of the Rye Society of Artists Summer Exhibition catalogue from 1994 and it contains the following obituary by his widow, Dot. I hope no one minds me reproducing it here: -
