That ubiquitous bought-in cane handle has been used by so many
British studio potters. My D leach eg.

Identical, Were potters too lazy, or the task was too risky, or did it just take up
too much space in the kiln?

Cane handles saved space in the kiln and i read it was popularised by Heals or Habitat. I think many studio potteries were supplied by the same few companies. They’re so ubiquitous I don’t put much store by them for ID purposes.

Teapots with cane handles were simply easier to make. In the Leach standard Ware range it was mostly cane handles.
