AMERICAN POTTERY? IBS mark and 176 TO BASE

I have been trying to identify this piece for some time to no avail. Is it Southern Folk Pottery? To base it reads I.B.S. 176. Does I.B.S. mean: In Between Sale?
I would love to know who made it :-)

Not American, imo. Was it found in New Zealand.

Yes. Found in NZ. Do you know what I.B.S. stands for?

It'll be the potter's monogram but nothing coming up on any search so maybe 176 is a count of the number of pots they'd made. If so, they're more likely to be a hobby potter.
