It looks like a hobby potter. The lettering looks rather amatuer, and a heavy weight in a hand built item is not an indication of a professional potter.

It's very tactile! I like the feel of it, and it presents well in a rustic kind of way. No accounting for personal taste?

Quirky is good! If you like/love it that is all you need. Pottery Collectors are a choosy bunch, and they like things to be just 'right'. Which is fair enough, as professional hand made studio pottery tends to be expensive.

Yes, I display pottery made by my sister because it looks wonderful. She made it within 6 months of picking up her first ball of clay
