Unusual piece - haven't got a Scooby doo who made it though. It doesn't look British but just to eliminate the possibility I'll have a look for the mark in the British pottery marks books I've got.

Is the mark glazed in or is it something like magic marker? I'm somewhat more skeptical of marks when they're not part of the actual piece. I buy from a thrift store which marks every piece they sell with a magic marker.
