Please add a photo of the base even if there’s no mark

What size are they? From the photo at first glance they look very much like Leach ST Ives standard ware. Unglazed outside, plain glaze inside. Invariably they were virtually always marked. They were much imitated though.

Hi Philpot
Thankyou for your reply. Just under 6 inches across on upper part, 2 1/2 inches across bottom, cannot find any kind of marks at all but they are very very well made

Re: Beautiful Bowls but no strong makers marks
From the base photo, the side is more gloss glazed than a Leach piece would be. But it is very much the same form. Fact being that any potter making their living from selling their own pottery. makes their stuff very well. They have to else they would not be able to sell it.
What you are noticing is just how good hand made pottery is. It has a life and feel all of its own. However, the pieces you have are just too ubiquitous of design and shape to be able to identify an individual potter when there is no actual mark.

Re: Beautiful Bowls but no strong makers marks
Hi Philpot
Yes I am completely awestruck by these bowls, the shape, feel, sound and colour are absolute magic. My Father loved Studio Pottery and I know he would have loved these. I could see there was no visible mark when I purchased them but still fell immediately in love with them. Breakfast time is looking up
