Nick Orsler signed glass thing Empty Nick Orsler signed glass thing

Nick Orsler is a Dartmouth Totnes, Devon glass maker, no longer glass blowing.
This is typical shape and style for his smaller bowls. Signed.
This one however has a hole in the base
Has Nick just ground the base too much? Seems unlikely.
Or is there another use for it. Lamp shade? Or something else?
Any ideas? Thanks
