Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
The foot doesn't look typically Japanese but it could be. What is the size?

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
It's a fraction over 2.75 inches in height and around 3.25 inches across the top.
The reason I mentioned it possibly being a tourist piece is because this (along with the stoneware cup & some other bits I've yet to put on) had sat in a storage locker for some time, before I bought them. The family that owned the collection did travel and maybe bought a piece or three back with them.
I'm guessing, trying to join the dots.

It could be Japanese, even with the foot but, from experience the foot of the other cup you listed looks more Japanese.

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
Thanks again for your thoughts studio, I am pretty clueless with regards origins of all of the pieces. I just loved them when I bought them.
I shall continue to dig around

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
You just have to keep buying things that you like or at least looking at and handling them.

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
I agree studio, though more looking and handling than buying. Trouble is at boots there's a lot to tempt and my self control isn't always on point.
Auctions are a different matter and I only go to two nowadays, both local and pleasant to peruse.

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
Not his usual mark. Do you have another of his with this mark for comparison?

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
Looks identical to the one in the book Naomi, though that's impressed twice, not painted, I've just discovered

Re: Stoneware Yunomi for ID
Ah, ok. Yes his mark is impressed rather than painted. I'm not sure if they are meant to be kanji characters or a couple of trees
