George Shanks Empty George Shanks

George Shanks.
Trained at Edinburgh School of Art and then visited Japan where he was inspired by Japanese aesthetics.
Teaching at Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee in the 60s-70s, then set up his own studio, Maryfield Pottery, in Strathmartine, Angus, Scotland.
He moved to East Lothian in the 90s and died in 2000
Pots inscribed Shanks or written S mark or unsigned.
