Italian small tray / pin dish- interesting flower mark on base - any ideas?
Hi. Hope someone can help with this small Italian tray / pin dish. Marked on base 3971 ITALY with a red flower on a green stem. When I found this is the west of Yorkshire (UK) the decoration of a man drinking in a cafe reminded me of The Flower Painter now identified as being from the company Il Quadrifoglio (see Mark Hill's book Alla Moda and his blog on The Flower Painter). However the flower on this piece does not match the 4 leaf flower / clover they used on their pieces. Has anyone seen this particular mark before and could help id the maker and date the piece. It measures 19 cm in length x 13 cm wide x 3 cm deep. Any help would be much appreciated.

Seems it's by one of the 'flower mark' Italian potteries, but Il Quadrifoglio wasnt the only factory using the mark

there are rose marks on special ceramic designs but it seems the Italian experts cannot agree on exactly who made them

As I remember from way back, these are individual ash-trays, and came as a
stacking set of 4, in a holder.
