Small stoneware jug cross and SC mark - Seth cardew, or not?
Hi, I’m trying to find out more about this little stoneware jug - at the moment I. Wondering if the two marks are Wenford Bridge and Seth Cardew’s personal mark but if that is the case - what is the “k” inscribed to the base?
Happy to be contradicted here, it’s not the most shapely of jugs, the handle is a little weird!

I think if it was Seth Cardew the mark would be more defined and the handle would be different.
It might be Charles Spacey or Stephen Carter, but I suspect it’s an unknown because I’ve not seen that cross or that K associated with either of them

I agree, probably best left as ‘unknown’ - that handle is really odd! Thanks Naomi.

I have seen that SC mark before on some boot sale pieces I bought, but have never been able to identify it. It is not Seth Cardew's, as I know to my own experience!
