Hans Coper style vase - Peter Field
Recently found this beauty at my local thrift and had no idea who the potter may be but after scrutinizing the chop mark at the bottom side near the foot (which is obscured by the glaze) thought that it might be the 1965 hourglass chop mark of Hans Coper. I realize that his works were is black and white, but thought that maybe this could have been produced when he collaborated with Lucy Rie. Your thoughts on this would be most welcomed. Thanks!

Re: Hans Coper style vase - Peter Field
He never ever used that type pf glaze, neither did Lucie Rie. The Rie/Coper collaboration was almost entirely on Domestic pieces in the early years of Coper's career. Coper's output was not large, and nearly all of it sold through speialist galleries

Re: Hans Coper style vase - Peter Field
He obviously copied copers and rie’s style but not unfortunately the refinement, quite heavy and thickly potted. But not a bad find
