A pair of oval plates - Italian? Empty A pair of oval plates - Italian?

Hallo all
Can anybody please identify these plates. I suspect they may be Italian, but I'm guessing.
They are 11" (28cm) in length. The are hand painted and appear to have a degree of age owing to extensive crazing.
