Probably my fav buy of the year even though i do not know the maker - similar character style to some eric james mellon’s that i have seen it’s not him but reminiscent.

Reminds me of the Narnia characters in the L the W and the W…

Would love your thoughts, if you like it too and any news on who made it.. 😃👍

Looks like Honor Hussey’s mark and type of clay, but not seen anything like this before. She is also an artist under her maiden name Honor Surie, so I’d guess it’s a late piece

The mark is pretty close - I did think originally of Honor and the clay teracotta base matches imo - but not seen anything remotely like her style in this piece, it's a million, million miles away from her flower decorated pots that i have seen in the past.

I may be a convert to her as an artist if it is! Surrender Embarrassed

Eric Mellon's work used lots of different glaze types, he was a master of them. This uses a lot of sgraffitto technique to a very great effect. Doing sgrafitto like that takes a lot of skill.
I have seen a lot of Honor Hussey's work, and never anything like this in her work. Certainly nothing on this technique level
What a beautiful piece though.

Her paintings are very accomplished, including the ones with people in them, and I dont know anyone else with this HH stamp. I think it's hers
