Makers mark mystery
Hi there everyone, belated festive good wishes to you all.
Hoping someone out there may be able to help me identify this mark. Looked extensively and drawn a blank.
Obviously AR with stamped numbers 107? and another stamped mark of a tower and ramparts.
Piece measures 16cm tall and hope that you can help.

Re: Makers mark mystery
It appears to be a foreign slip moulded vase which someone has glazed themselves. So 107 is a pattern number, and the ink stamp looks German or Scandinavian
AR would be the hobby potter’s monogram

Good afternoon Naomi, thanks for that. Is it right for me to feel deflated??? Seems too good to be hobbyist, maybe my picture does not do it justice....love to get to the bottom of the tower and rampart stamp

Re: Makers mark mystery
It's lovely, but it appears to be a bought in blank from a manufacturer and they haven't wiped the glaze off the base which is a rookie mistake, which is why I believe it's by a hobbist rather than part of this manufacturer's range. But I could be wrong.

Re: Makers mark mystery
Hi there Naomi, transpires that is a Ziegler mark used between 1953 and 1973. Indeed it is a hobby painted blank - there were 22 shapes to choose grom and they fired them in shop. Apparently huge thing to do for the Swiss in this era. All unique and super quality glazes . Thought I should let you know and thanks as always.
