Liz Munday

That is one of my mothers pots circa 1980. Liz Munday remarried to become Liz Overington. Liz studied ceramics at Medway Art College and went on to be a member of the West Street Potters in Farnham. She would often exhibit pieces in the Ashgate Gallery. Liz became friends with renowned potter Siddig El Nigoumi. They became such good friends that he made and signed with his classic scorpion and bird symbols, a special piece just for Liz with a 3-legged elephant on the design, which she treasured, loving its natural earthy tones. Admiring each other’s talent, the two of them even shared an exhibition displaying their work together. Liz continued pottery under the name of ‘Laburnum Cottage Pottery’. Sadly Liz passed away August 2022. If anyone has a piece by Liz I would be interested in purchasing it from them.
