An unusual shape for a Spice Jar. They tend to cylindrical and fairly small . I do not think too many potters made them, as the lettering would be quite labour intensive and the market fairly limited. I first thought of Mary Wondrausch. I know she made some, but have never seen any by her in this shape.

The puddle of glaze on the base is seen on Abuja and occasionally Wenford Bridge Pottery

Naomi is correct about the glaze on the base and so it could be someone that trained with Michael Cardew.
