I have acquired this pretty lidded jug. The base is simply marked with the number 30 and the lid is stamped James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield.
It stands 16.5cm tall.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.Trying to establish the age and maker of this Lidded Jug 11196b10

We seem to get a lot of these orphaned jugs, they were usually in a graduated set of 3.
Late 19th/early 20thC. 30 will probably be the capacity or size code.

The metal lids were bought in from various manufacturers, and were usually an
optional extra.
