Mystery Cornish (?) vase 1920s?
Hi everyone
Any help appreciated on this one as I feel a bit out of my depth!
I picked up this pot/vase at a boot fair recently. What sparked my curiosity was the seller's mother, who was the owner of the piece, had stuck a hand-written id on the base saying '1926 Cornish art pottery'. The 1926 seems very specific so she must have got this info from somewhere. Unfortunately the seller didn't know anything other than what was written.
There are no markings, but the impressions of a label can just about be discerned but is way too faded to be of any help (you can just about make out POT..so this must have been 'pottery'). The decoration seem quite crudely done by my eyes, but perhaps this is consistent with the period and technique..? Just over 6 inches height.

I've been looking at early Winchcombe as a possibility, though I guess without a mark you can never know..?

Re: Mystery Cornish (?) vase 1920s?
Its definitely not early Winchcombe as all their early -up the early 60's in fact- pottery was made of a reddish looking earthenware. Much the same for the Bernard Leach St Ives pottery of the 1920's as it also was nearly all red earthenware.
I suspect the Cornish pottery label is a complete Red Herring.
