Came across this lipped bottle and it is an atypical form. Mark appears to suggest Helen Pincombe. Would appreciate some opinions on this if anyone feels they can help. Is very beautiful but not the usual glaze or motifs?

I would say probably. Problem being that there are a couple of other potteries which used a very similar mark to hers. their work is often attributed to hers. Haverfordwest Pottery and another one.
Most often her mark often has a an accompanying dot with it and also the H is this mark does not quite as straight as is seen in most of her marks.
Having said that, her mark did often vary slightly, and she had a very long career. She did use dry glazes. There is one particular one in the  V&A collection.

What is really comes down to though is the quality of her work. I have had a few of her pieces over the years, and seen a few more. Invariably it has been of the very highest professional standard. Quite beautifully made. So is your piece of that quality? One cannot tell from just a photo!

It is beautifully proportioned measuring 17cm tall. Very refined shape and almost poetic in the colouring. But the walls of the neck are not extremely thin and there is a small gritty lump in the body of the clay which you can feel when stroking the pot. Not sure whether that would have escaped her quality control? Or whether accepted as part of the quality of the raw material???
