Pair of grotesque figures-Any ideas?

Had these for over 20 years,still no idea where their from,any help to identify would be most welcome.

German maybe. They look like Shakespearean actors. It’s the sort of caricature figurine they like. Might be 19thC. Porcelain? Or a faux-alabaster maybe (a form of chalkware)?

There’s a similar one online listed as “Antique Passau German Porcelain Figure of Quasimodo - Dressel & Kister”, but it’s fully marked on the base. Yours looks like a chalkware copy
