That looks to have some real age to it, probably belongs in a museum.

I just picked it up at a charity shop in Bath, the lady there pulled it out the back for me and said it had been donated from a house on the Royal Crescent so could be something interesting!

I would assume it was pretty fancy tableware in its day & not for the commoner

My feeling is it’s traditional European cook ware; maybe 19thC.

Tin glaze is the opaque white coloured glaze used over darker earthenware clay so it can be decorated. Alternatively it might be a thin layer of slip made out of a light coloured liquid clay
