FARNHAM POTTERY
I know there are some of us very interested in Farnham pottery. There is a whole load of it coming up in an early November sale at Stoud Auctions. As well as Brannam and others. Not my cup of tea, but it is interesting to look at and rare to have so many pieces in one auction.

Re: FARNHAM POTTERY
Yes this popped up in my alerts. Massive collection. Many multiple 'dealer' lots - You would think the price would drop there is so much to go round and much of it estimated £40-60.
Very strange auction. 100s of military uniforms, then 100s of bayonets and knives. Who collects a BRITISH ARMY GLOUCESTERSHIRE REGIMENT BANDMASTER BLUE TUNIC, love to know the story behind it all

Re: FARNHAM POTTERY
Watched this sale today, it was a little sad. That was obviously someone's collection of Farnham and much of the standard items went for basic prices or was unsold after being proffered for "OK £20 then?, no? Unsold then". They were filler pieces for me. Not the stars of the show but things that if I saw them at a fair I would have bought them and probably for more as one lot. Trouble is when quality is only average and there is a plethora available disinterest breeds but more disinterest.
Auctioneer said he had a 'lot to get through' so it was unusually speedy, and first auctioneer was distinctly without the usual dealer chit chat "only £40 - surely not for a fine...", "..Mr Smith is having a good day" - none of this.
The best bits did still sell well, I bought one thing will post when it arrived. but it's sad to see someone's beloved collection going for probably a lot less than he paid for it. Hope he/she got a lot of enjoyment from it hen they had it.
2 day sale so prices not up yet
EDIT: Might bid on LOT 1325
TWO REPLICA NAZI DAGGERS, LONGEST BLADE 25CM, BOTH WITH SHEATHS. PLEASE NOTE ALL BLADED ITEMS ARE

Only Joking - Why are there so many bayonets? - must be a story there but the grenades do look good

Candlelight - Just a remark but the owl jugs really come alive when lit by candle. Something that just passes us by nowadays with uniform top lit lighting where everything becomes flat and uninteresting. All the tooling lines round the eyes sparkles in candle light and the eyes become more noticeable.
