Hunting for jugs found two unusual jugs today on my travels??
Picked up a pair of jugs today one is a large stoneware one which reminds me
of the old pictures of men working in the fields at harvest time and when on
break would have a pitcher of cider if lucky and some butties i have attached
some pictures and wondered if anybody might be able to have a go at dating
it and guessing where it may have been made thanks

Is that an impressed mark at the base of the handle, or am I seeing things?
I would guess 19th century, at their latest. Though there's folk on here that are bound to be more accurate in the dating of them.
Nice thing, imo, bit of history there

It's a thumbprint. Possibly French, they did that to fix the handle on their jugs. Looks early 20thC or earlier

Typical Country Pottery. Probably impossible to identify definitely, as back then, there were a lot of country potteries.

The clay and glaze colours certainly look English
